BELLEVUE, Neb. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) is pleased to announce the 2017-18 Men's Basketball All-Conference selections and postseason awards. The all-conference and postseason awards were announced at the honors banquet on the campus of Bellevue (Neb.) Saturday evening.
The Bruins won the North Star conference regular-season outright with an 11-5 record. BU's B.J. Shelton was named to the NSAA Men's Basketball Most Valuable Player for the second straight year. In addition, Shane Paben was voted as the conference's Coach-of-the-Year (second consecutive year).
Leighton Sampson of Jamestown (N.D.) was honored as the North Star's Newcomer Player-of-the-Year. Cade Anderson of Viterbo (Wis.) was chosen as the Defensive Player-of-the-Year.
Shane Paben of Bellevue was named as the NSAA Men's Basketball Coach-of-the-Year.
The following athletes were selected by the conference coaches as All-Conference First and Second Teams. There is a list of Honorable Mention recipients. A total of six seniors are on the All-Conference First and Second Teams - with four seniors listed on the First-Team All-Conference.
