JAMESTOWN, N.D. - Despite having four players score in double figures, with three players scoring 13, Dickinson State (1-2, 0-0) was unable to hang with the offensive firepower of the University of Jamestown (1-0, 0-0) as they fell 112-84 on Thursday night.
The Blue Hawks shot 48% from the field and 48% from deep, but Jamestown shot an incredible 60% from the field and 56% from three to outpace the Dickinson State attack. DSU was able to hang close for most of the first half, coming within three at 36-33 on a three pointer for John Evans with 7:08 left in the half, but the Jimmies responded with a 12-0 run to take a commanding 15 point lead. UJ took a 17 point lead into the break at 61-44 after shooting 10-13 from deep in the first half.
The half time break couldn't do anything to slow down the 9th ranked team in the nation, as UJ expanded their lead to 84-50 with 13:00 left in the game and coasting the rest of the way.
Kose Egbule, Trey Hladky, and Jaiden Wright all scored 13 points to lead the Blue Hawks on the night. Christian Murphy had 10, Gus Wright 9, and John Evans and Jake Daniel both had 8 as all nine Blue Hawks that played scored at least four points.
