Bellevue, Neb. – Dickinson State fell, 69-43, to Bellevue on Friday setting up a showdown with Dakota State on Saturday for postseason seeding.
The Blue Hawks struggled from the field, shooting just 15-49 (30 percent) from the field and 3-13 (23 percent) from three in their lowest scoring game of the season. Bellevue didn't fare much better from long range (4-14) but connected at a 50 percent clip from the field to run away with the win.
DC Stewart led the Blue Hawks in scoring with 10 points on 4-8 shooting off the bench. Cordell Stinson scored 7 points to lead all DSU starters.
Dickinson State led 11-9 with 11:30 left in the first half after a Jaiden Wright three put them in front, but Bellevue took control from that point on, never trailing again after taking the lead with 10:54 remaining in the half.
A big part of the Bruins' success came on the glass, as they dominated the rebounding battle 41-24, while also blocking seven shots.
