Dickinson State Ends Season with Sweep at Rocky Mountain, Earns Most Wins Since 2010

BILLINGS, Mont. – Dickinson State closed its 2025 volleyball season on a high note, sweeping Rocky Mountain in straight sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-22, on Saturday at the Fortin Education Center.

The win capped a 13-14 overall campaign for the Blue Hawks, including a 9-13 record in Frontier Conference play. The 13 victories are the program's most in a single season since 2010, when DSU went 21-14.

Aubrey Allison led the way offensively with a match-high 14 kills and 20 digs, while hitting .231 on 39 swings. It marked her 12th double-double of the year and helped her close the season with a team-best 308 kills. Senior Makyah Albrecht added 10 kills and three blocks, and Samantha Oase chipped in 10 kills on a .429 hitting percentage with one block assist.

Setter Rylee Kogolshak distributed 44 assists to go with nine digs, two block assists and one ace. She ended the year with 1,008 assists while contributing 297 digs and 62.5 total blocks.

Carmen Pallone posted five kills and six total blocks, and the Blue Hawk defense saw four players record six or more digs. Allison and Geraldyne Fernandez each finished with 20, and Abigail Beddes tallied 13.

Dickinson State hit .239 as a team and held Rocky Mountain (3-25, 2-20 Frontier) to a .104 attack percentage.

The Blue Hawks controlled the first set behind .333 hitting and a balanced attack. Allison and Oase combined for eight of DSU's 17 kills in the frame. In the second, DSU delivered its best offensive performance of the day, hitting .362 as Allison, Oase and Albrecht took command at the net.

Rocky Mountain led late in the third, but Dickinson State used a 6-2 closing run to finish the match.

The win capped a resurgent season under second-year head coach Stormy Siemion.

"Not entirely how we saw the season ending, but to finish on a road sweep is pretty sweet," Siemion said. "I am so proud of this group. I'm also so thankful for this group of seniors. They led the way for an unforgettable season."

Dickinson State finished the year with five attackers recording more than 100 kills, including Allison (308), Pallone (227), Albrecht (181), Cate Floy (156), and Oase (127). The Blue Hawks averaged 12.28 kills and 18.24 digs per set over the course of the season.
