Rocky Mountain pulls away late to top Dickinson State 67-57 in Frontier matchup

BILLINGS, Mont. – Dickinson State fell to Rocky Mountain College 67-57 on Friday evening in a Frontier Conference road contest at the Fortin Center. The Blue Hawks trimmed the deficit to one point early in the fourth quarter but could not overcome a late push by the Battlin' Bears.

Dickinson State (3-7, 1-5 Frontier) had three players score in double figures and received a productive effort from the bench, but shot just 35.4% from the field and was outscored 21-16 in the final period. Rocky Mountain (6-3, 4-2) shot 42.4% and held a 38–20 advantage in points in the paint.

Jada Clarkson led DSU with 12 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 mark at the free throw line, and added three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 19 minutes off the bench. Forward Brae Eneboe contributed 10 points and three rebounds, while senior J'Ell Garfield finished with eight points, seven boards, and two assists.

The Blue Hawks trailed 13-9 after the first quarter and 27-26 at halftime. A 7-0 run midway through the second quarter brought DSU within one, capped by a three-pointer from Kaylin Garza. DSU briefly cut the Rocky lead to 47-46 with 5:09 left in the fourth quarter on a basket by Eneboe, but that marked the last time the Blue Hawks were within one possession. Rocky responded with an 8-0 run to extend its lead and held on the rest of the way.

Garza finished with nine points and four rebounds, and senior Kyrie Alldredge also added eight points and four rebounds. DSU made 6-of-18 shots from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. The Blue Hawks committed only nine turnovers and held a 10-8 edge in points off turnovers.

Defensively, Dickinson State limited Rocky Mountain to just 6-of-21 from three-point range (28.6%), but struggled to contain forward Isabelle Heggem, who posted a game-high 25 points and 12 rebounds. Rocky's Brenna Linse added 20 points and eight boards.

Dickinson State's bench contributed 17 points, compared to just one from Rocky's reserves.
