KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Faith Sullivan-Brennan of Dickinson State (N.D.) has been named the NAIA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, earning national recognition after a record-breaking performance at the U-Mary Alumni Open.
Brennan led the way in the triple jump, claiming first place with a mark of 12.28 meters in a six-athlete field. The effort not only secured her the event title but also set a new Dickinson State school record, met the NAIA "A" qualifying standard, and currently stands as the top mark in the nation.
"Great start to the season for Faith," said DSU head coach Shayne Wittkopp. "She's put together a couple great performances in the last couple weeks and it's great to see her hard work recognized. Her performance in the triple jump included five 12-meter jumps, which really is a special performance."
Brennan also showcased her versatility on the track, finishing fifth out of 19 competitors in the 60 meters with a time of 8.03 seconds.
