THIS WEEK IN DICKINSON STATE TRACK & FIELD
The Dickinson State men's and women's indoor track and field teams continue the 2025-2026 indoor season this weekend at the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D., as the Blue Hawks prepare for another opportunity to compete against a strong field and build momentum toward the conference championships.

Dickinson State enters the meet following a productive showing at the Bison Open in Fargo, where multiple athletes recorded national qualifying marks and season-best performances. The SDSU Indoor Classic provides another high-level setting for the Blue Hawks to refine event execution and pursue additional season bests and personal records.

In the field events, Dickinson State features several athletes already on the national qualifying list. Kori Nagel leads the women's throws group with automatic qualifying marks in both the shot put and weight throw. Nagel most recently broke the school record in the shot put at the Bison Open with a mark of 15.35 meters, placing her 2nd in the NAIA. She also holds an automatic qualifying mark of 19.18 meters in the weight throw, a performance that currently ranks No. 1 in the NAIA this season.

On the men's side, Dylan Dahlgren has secured an automatic qualifier in the weight throw with a top mark of 19.24 meters, situating him 3rd in the NAIA. Dahlgren also owns the team's best indoor shot put mark at 15.89 meters and will look to continue his consistency in both events.

Faith Brennan has contributed across multiple disciplines for the Blue Hawks. Her triple jump mark of 12.28 meters places her first in the NAIA and holds a provisional mark of 5.69 meters in the long jump. Brennan also leads the team in the 60-meter dash at 7.93 seconds and the 60-meter hurdles at 8.87 seconds, adding depth to the women's sprint and jump groups.

Adarra Hagelund holds the number 1 spot in the NAIA in the high jump at 1.76 meters and will again be a key competitor in the vertical jumps. Ty Leischner leads the men's high jump with a provisional mark of 2.04 meters and has also contributed in the pole vault and multi-events.

On the track, Dickinson State has seen steady progress in the middle-distance and distance events. Mia Handran carries a provisional qualifying mark in the women's 800 meters at 2:17.08 and owns season-best times of 1:39.69 in the 600 meters and 2:18.66 in the 800. Natalie Lile leads the women in the 1,000 meters at 3:03.50 and has been part of the Blue Hawks' top relay performances.

Caleb Sarsland has recorded provisional national qualifiers in both the mile and 3,000 meters, with top times of 4:11.79 and 8:21.93, respectively. He also anchors a men's distance group that includes strong marks in the 5,000 meters and distance medley relay.

In the sprints, Mustafa Taylor leads the men in the 60 meters at 7.00 seconds, while Quentin Lewis holds team-best times in the 200 meters at 22.42 and the 400 meters at 49.85. The Blue Hawks' 4x400-meter and distance medley relay squads on both the men's and women's sides have also posted competitive marks early in the season.
