HAVRE, Mont. — Dickinson State dropped a Frontier Conference contest on the road Saturday evening, falling 74-54 to Montana State-Northern at the Armory Gymnasium.
The Blue Hawks (3-5, 1-3 Frontier) shot 37.7 percent from the field and trailed in every quarter as the Skylights (5-2, 3-1) used a balanced offensive effort and hot shooting from the perimeter to pull away.
Anhelica Shanrock led Dickinson State with 13 points on 6-of-19 shooting, adding four rebounds and one assist. Brae Eneboe finished with 12 points and two rebounds while shooting 5-of-8 from the field. J'Ell Garfield chipped in nine points, hitting 4-of-8 from the floor, with two assists and a steal.
Dickinson State opened with its best offensive quarter, shooting 47 percent in the first 10 minutes, but trailed 22-18 after one. Montana State-Northern responded with a 17-11 edge in the second quarter and continued to extend the lead after halftime. The Skylights outscored the Blue Hawks 19-13 in the third and 16-12 in the fourth, building a lead as large as 20 in the second half.
The Blue Hawks struggled from beyond the arc, finishing 5-for-23 (21.7 percent), and were outrebounded 39-26. Montana State-Northern also posted a 15-9 advantage in points off turnovers and a 30-26 edge in points in the paint.
Kyrie Alldredge and Dylan Stedillie each added five points off the bench, with Alldredge connecting on a three-pointer and pulling down four rebounds. Kaylin Garza recorded three points and three boards, and Makena Hauge contributed four points and three rebounds in 10 minutes of play.
Montana State-Northern shot 50 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three-point range. The Skylights were led by Lauren Gunn's 16 points and seven rebounds, while Canzas HisBadHorse added 15 points and six boards. The hosts recorded 13 assists on 28 made field goals and committed just 10 turnovers.
