Dickinson State falls to Providence 65-40 in Frontier road matchup

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Dickinson State fell behind early and was unable to recover in a 65-40 road loss to (RV) University of Providence on Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Hawks (3-6, 1-4 Frontier) were held to 31.4% shooting from the field and just 12.5% from three-point range. Providence (7-2, 3-2) opened the game on a 21-9 run in the first quarter and never relinquished the lead.

Kaylin Garza and Brae Eneboe led Dickinson State with nine points each. Garza added three rebounds, two steals and a block, while Eneboe contributed four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 18 minutes of action.

Dickinson State trimmed the deficit in the second quarter, outscoring Providence 16-19, but struggled to find rhythm offensively in the second half. The Blue Hawks were held to just six points in the third quarter and nine in the fourth. DSU finished the game with 17 turnovers and managed only two second-chance points despite collecting 31 rebounds.

Senior Kyrie Alldredge added six points off the bench, going 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Makena Hauge chipped in five points and three rebounds, while Karson Tempel scored four on 2-of-3 shooting. Allie Kohn hit a three-pointer and totaled three points in 22 minutes.

Defensively, the Blue Hawks recorded five blocked shots, led by Garza and Hauge with three combined. DSU also tallied six steals, including two from Garza and two from Hauge.

Providence was led by Eliannah Ramirez, who finished with a game-high 18 points and eight rebounds. The Argos shot 43.5% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc. Providence also capitalized on Dickinson State's mistakes, scoring 21 points off turnovers.

The Argos outrebounded DSU 33-31 and dominated the paint with a 32-16 edge in interior scoring. The largest lead of the game came with 6:40 remaining in the fourth quarter, when Providence held a 29-point advantage.
