Dickinson State couldn't close out multiple tight sets against Briar Cliff (Iowa), falling 3-1 in its final match of the Siouxland Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Geraldyne Fernandez each saw court time in the back row. Dickinson State out-dug Briar Cliff 75-68 but committed 31 attack errors and recorded just one team block, coming from Albrecht and Oase.

Dickinson State opened with a dominant 25-16 first-set win, hitting .324 and limiting the Chargers to just 11 kills. Briar Cliff answered by winning the next three sets, taking the second 25-19 and edging DSU 25-23 in the third and fourth sets.

Stormy Siemion reflected positively on the weekend performance:
"It was a great weekend! Getting to finish 3-1 on our only tournament this year is a huge accomplishment," Siemion said. "We played some great teams and it has helped us see the improvements we need to make."
With the loss, Dickinson State moved to 4-1 on the season.
