DICKINSON, N.D. – The Dickinson State University Rodeo Team will host its annual
Blue Hawk Stampede, presented by Red Rock Ford, on
Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 at the
Stark County Fairgrounds just south of Dickinson. The two-day rodeo is a highlight of the fall season and will feature top collegiate competitors from across the Great Plains Region.

Blue Hawks Enter With Momentum
The Blue Hawk women's team enters the Stampede leading the
Great Plains Region standings with 761.75 points. The DSU men's team currently sits in fourth with 977 points, positioning both squads to contend for crucial regional standings in front of the home crowd.
Senior
Tayson Jones (Howes, S.D.) headlines the roster, ranked first in
saddle bronc riding with 340 points. He is joined by freshman
Brody Froelich (Selfridge, N.D.) and junior
Eli Higa (Honokae, Hawaii), who also rank among the region's top saddle bronc competitors.
On the women's side, graduate student
Molly Rotenberger (Ludlow, S.D.) and junior
Jaysee Jones (Howes, S.D.) are among DSU's top all-around performers. Rotenberger has earned points in both barrel racing and goat tying, while Jones ranks second in goat tying and seventh in breakaway roping. Senior
Jenna Hume (Orfordville, Wis.) has also contributed with consistent performances across multiple events.
Regional Competition
The Stampede will bring in strong competition from across the Great Plains Region, including
Mid-Plains Community College and
Bismarck State College. With several DSU athletes ranked in the top five of their events, the weekend provides an opportunity for the Blue Hawks to improve their positioning early in the 2025-26 season.
