DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State junior defensive back Ryan Racht was named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Blue Hawks' 28-6 Homecoming victory over Mayville State.

Racht helped Dickinson State open Frontier Conference East Division play with a win, contributing to two of the Blue Hawks' three forced turnovers.

With Dickinson State leading 21-0 in the fourth quarter, Racht intercepted Mayville State quarterback Aiden Marcussen at the Blue Hawk 26-yard line and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown. The score extended Dickinson State's lead to 28-0 with 8:58 remaining.

Racht also recovered a fumble, recorded a pass breakup and finished with three tackles as Dickinson State improved to 1-0 in Frontier East play.

The victory also marked the 100th career win for Dickinson State head coach Pete Stanton, making him the second head coach in program history to reach the milestone.

The weekly honor is the first of Racht's career.
