ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Dickinson State closed the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a third-place team finish on the women's side and a 20th-place finish on the men's side.
Top-eight finishers earned NAIA All-America honors, and Dickinson State collected 12 All-American performances across the meet.
Adarra Hagelund led the Blue Hawk women with a national championship in the high jump, clearing 1.81 meters (5 feet, 11.25 inches). The mark was a personal best and the top NAIA performance of the 2026 season.
"In track and field it's easy to think of things in terms of individual performances," Dickinson State head coach Shayne Wittkopp said. "Only a couple times a year does the final score count more than anything else.
"This week it was very gratifying to see this special group of student-athletes pull together with one singular focus."

"I'm very proud of the performance the men and the women's teams put together," Wittkopp said. "I'm most proud of how they supported each other and competed hard for each other.
"It will be hard to say goodbye to this special group of seniors. They've done a lot for the program and represented the university with class and made us all proud. They are Forever Hawks."
The third-place finish capped a standout national meet for the Dickinson State women, while the men's 20th-place finish was powered by All-American efforts in the distance events, throws and pole vault.
