DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State softball is headed to Klamath Falls, Oregon, for the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round.

The Blue Hawks earned the No. 5 seed in the Klamath Falls Opening Round bracket and will face No. 4 seed (RV) Arizona Christian on Monday, May 11. Dickinson State enters the national tournament at 40-12 after winning both the Frontier Conference regular-season and tournament championships and ending the season on a 24-game win streak.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the 48-team field for the 45th annual NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round on Wednesday evening.
#2 Oregon Tech will serve as the host and top seed at the Klamath Falls site. The Owls enter the tournament at 41-8 after winning the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season title. #11 Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) is the No. 2 seed at 39-10 after winning the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament championship. (RV) St. Thomas (Florida) is seeded third at 31-20, followed by Arizona Christian at 36-13 and Dickinson State.
The 2026 national championship field includes 29 automatic qualifiers. Those teams earned berths by winning a conference regular-season title, conference tournament championship or finishing as a conference tournament runner-up in their respective leagues. Four teams earned host-at-large berths, while the remaining 15 spots were selected by the NAIA Softball National Selection Committee, made up of head coaches and administrators from around the country.
Dickinson State will look to continue its standout season in Oregon after posting a 24-4 Frontier Conference record and sweeping the league's regular-season and tournament titles.
