Casper, Wyo. — Dickinson State University rodeo is set to be well represented on the national stage as seven Blue Hawks prepare to compete at the College National Finals Rodeo beginning Sunday, June 14.
Dickinson State will have competitors entered across four events, including saddle bronc, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying. The Blue Hawks will look to make their mark throughout a full week of competition featuring matinee, slack, and performance rounds.
In saddle bronc, Tayson Jones and Brody Froelich will open the week for Dickinson State on Sunday during the matinee. Jones is scheduled to compete in Go 1, Section 3, while Froelich will ride in Go 1, Section 4. Both riders will return Monday in slack for their second go-round, with Jones also scheduled for Tuesday's performance and Froelich set for Wednesday's performance.
Molly Rotenberger will have a busy week for the Blue Hawks, competing in both barrel racing and goat tying. She begins barrel racing Monday in slack before returning Tuesday for her second go-round and Friday for the third go-round performance. Rotenberger will also compete in goat tying alongside Jaysee Jones, with both opening Monday in slack, returning Tuesday for their second go-round, and competing again Thursday during the performance.
Dickinson State will also be represented in breakaway roping by Jenna Hume and Maci Maher. Hume begins Sunday during the matinee in Go 1, Section 4, before competing Monday in slack and Tuesday's performance. Maher enters the competition Monday in slack for her second go-round and is scheduled to compete Wednesday during the performance.
The College National Finals Rodeo brings together the top collegiate rodeo athletes from across the country, giving Dickinson State an opportunity to showcase its depth and talent against the nation's best. The Blue Hawks will look for consistent performances throughout the week as they pursue strong finishes in Casper.
