FRONTIER REMATCHES: Due to the postponement of their December 16 game against Jamestown, Dickinson State will head to Billings, Montana coming off a 23-day break … in Billings they will take on familiar Frontier Conference foes, University of Providence and Rocky Mountain College … both games will be rematches from earlier this year … Dickinson State has not played a countable game since they dropped their NSAA conference opener at Valley City State on December 3, only playing an exhibition against NCAA Division II University of Mary in Bismarck since then … after a stretch that saw them play six games, all against teams from the Frontier Conference, in just 14 days, the rest came at a much needed time for coach Derek Selvig's squad … Dickinson State features two double figure scorers in John Evans and Gus Wright, but have a balanced offense with Trey HladkyKose Egbule, and Tyce Dahlberg all above eight points per game

THE SERIES SINCE 2009...
vs UP: UP leads 9-7
Last: UP 94-84 (11/18/22 in Butte) / Streak: UP 1
Notes: Providence won the other meeting this season, 94-84, at the Montana Tech Classic in Butte, Mont. … the teams have not played twice in a season since the 2014-2015 season when they split a home-and-home

vs RMC: RMC leads 17-8
Last: DSU 74-65 (11/26/22 in Dickinson) / Streak: DSU 2
Notes: DSU has won back-to-back games in the series after dropping six straight dating back to the 2016-2017 season … both wins have come by less than ten points, including the Blue Hawks 74-65 win in the Sam Milanovich Classic earlier this season

SCOUTING THE FOES: Providence has dropped four straight, and six of their last seven, contests after starting the season 5-1 … despite the losses, they have hung close with a couple of top five teams, falling 86-80 on the road at #4 College of Idaho and 86-68 at #1 Arizona Christian … the Argos have not played since December 20, a 99-70 loss at Ottawa University Arizona … Rocky Mountain comes into the weekend after a 1-2 trip to Arizona which included a victory over RV Hope International … after falling to the Blue Hawks in the finale of the Sam Milanovch Classic, the Bears have gone 2-3 but have not played since the win over Hope on December 19

QUOTES…

Head Coach Derek Selvig

"We are very excited to get back on the court this week after Christmas break.  It's been a while since we have played with the postponement of our Jamestown game.  Hoping to shake some rust off early this week. Providence and Rocky are two very good teams, and both are great opportunities for us to get better."
