MSU-Northern defeats Dickinson State in four sets

HAVRE, Mont. – Dickinson State fell in four sets to Montana State-Northern on Saturday in Frontier Conference play, 25-13, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, at the Armory Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Blue Hawks drop to 11-12 overall and 7-11 in conference play. The Skylights improve to 15-9 and 13-5 in the Frontier.

After a slow start in the first set, Dickinson State responded in the second, hitting .154 while holding MSU-Northern to 21 points to even the match at one set each. A six-point run midway through the set, led by kills from Aubrey Allison and Macie Wheeler and a service ace from Rylee Kogolshak, helped the Blue Hawks take control.

Allison led all Blue Hawk attackers with 13 kills on 63 swings, adding 12 digs and two block assists. Carmen Pallone posted 10 kills on a .281 hitting percentage and recorded a team-high six total blocks. Wheeler contributed nine kills and three block assists.

Kogolshak paced the offense with 39 assists and added 17 digs, two aces, and two block assists. Geraldyne Fernandez collected a match-high 32 digs on the back row.

Dickinson State hit .088 for the match, compared to MSU-Northern's .201. The Blue Hawks finished with 45 kills, 96 digs, five service aces, and nine team blocks.

Hasler led the Skylights with 15 kills, while Stock added 14 on a .407 clip.

Dickinson State returns to Scott Gymnasium next week for its final home stand of the regular season.
