Bismarck, N.D. – The Dickinson State men's and women's golf teams closed out play at the Valley City State Invitational on Friday at Tom O'Leary Golf Course in Bismarck. The Blue Hawk women secured the team title, while the men showed grit against a deep field with two full squads in action.
Women's Results
The Blue Hawk women carried their first-round lead into Friday and finished atop the leaderboard at +78, 16 strokes clear of second-place Jamestown (+94).

Ellia Soydara led the charge with a +14 (76-79–155), finishing runner-up individually.

Brooklyn Materi, who entered the day tied for the lead, carded rounds of 75-83 to finish fourth overall at +17 (158).

Kiaralynn Weidinger turned in steady scores of 78-82 for sixth place at +19 (160).

Camille Poncin posted an 88 in round one and was on pace for another counting score before play was suspended with two holes left; she sat at +28 through 16 holes.

Freshman Emma Isaacs (97-96–193) placed 15th individually.
The victory marks a strong start to the fall campaign for the Blue Hawk women, who placed three golfers inside the top six.
Men's Results
The men's field remained highly competitive in round two, with DSU's two teams finishing fourth and fifth overall.

Sam Lewton paced the Blue Hawks with rounds of 76-77 for +12 (153), good for 17th place.

Braxton Wolfe opened with a 75 but slipped to an 85 in round two, finishing at +19 (160).

Tyus Thomas (74-81–155, +14), Eric DeBorer (79-77–156, +15), and Kaden Bishop (78-78–156, +15) all finished inside the top 25.

Freshmen Jermaine Broussard (77-80–157, +16), Emerson Lee (76-81–157, +16), and sophomore Josh Hetzel (80-77–157, +16) also tied for 26th.

Torrin Ellis (80-80–160) and Jayce Johnson (80-75–155) contributed in the team competition as well.
As a team, DSU 1 (Wolfe, Lewton, DeBorer, Ellis, Johnson) finished fourth at +55, while DSU 2 (Thomas, Lee, Broussard, Bishop, Hetzel) placed fifth at +57.
