PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Dickinson State golf teams closed competition Wednesday at the Frontier Conference Championships at Papago Golf Club, with Brooklyn Materi highlighting the week with a runner-up individual finish to lead the Blue Hawk women in the 54-hole championship event. The tournament was played on the par-72 layout at Papago Golf Club, with 36 holes contested Tuesday and the final 18 holes completed Wednesday. The championship determined All-Conference honors and the conference's automatic national qualifying positions.
The Dickinson State women placed fifth as a team with a three-round total of 1,045 (+181), recording rounds of 346 (+58), 346 (+58), and 353 (+65). Rocky Mountain captured the team title at 984 (+120), followed by Bellevue at 1,014 (+150) and Montana Tech at 1,026 (+162).
Materi paced the Blue Hawks with a second-place finish at 242 (+26), posting rounds of 80 (+8), 79 (+7), and 83 (+11). Her finish marked the top individual performance for Dickinson State during the championship. Ellia Soydara added a tie for 11th-place finish at 257 (+41) after rounds of 84 (+12), 82 (+10), and 91 (+19). Camille Poncin tied for 21st at 273 (+57), carding rounds of 93 (+21), 93 (+21), and 87 (+15). Kiaralynn Weidinger finished tied for 23rd at 276 (+60) with rounds of 89 (+17), 95 (+23), and 92 (+20), while Jori Haugen placed 26th overall at 283 (+67) after rounds of 94 (+22), 92 (+20), and 97 (+25).
On the men's side, Dickinson State finished fourth overall with a three-round total of 932 (+68), recording rounds of 309 (+21), 318 (+30), and 305 (+17). Rocky Mountain won the men's team title at 874 (+10), followed by Bellevue at 896 (+32) and Mayville State at 929 (+65).
Sam Lewton led the Blue Hawks with an 11th-place finish at 228 (+12), posting rounds of 75 (+3), 81 (+9), and 72 (E). Jayce Johnson followed in 15th place at 233 (+17) with rounds of 75 (+3), 80 (+8), and 78 (+6). Eric Deboer and Torrin Ellis each tied for 19th at 237 (+21). Deboer recorded rounds of 82 (+10), 78 (+6), and 77 (+5), while Ellis finished with rounds of 78 (+6), 80 (+8), and 79 (+7). Tyus Thomas rounded out the Dickinson State scoring group in 24th place at 239 (+23) after rounds of 81 (+9), 80 (+8), and 78 (+6).
Rocky Mountain's Kristjan Burkelca claimed the men's individual title at 212 (-4), while Grace Metcalf of Rocky Mountain earned the women's individual championship at 239 (+23).
The Frontier Conference Championships conclude the 2025–26 season, with individual All-Conference honors determined by combined results from the fall and spring conference championship events.
