BISMARCK, N.D. — Dickinson State opened the 2026-27 season with a team championship Tuesday as the Blue Hawk women won the NDGA College Meet by one stroke, while the Dickinson State men finished third in the two-round event.
The women's first team finished at 80-over, edging Jamestown by one stroke for the title. The Blue Hawks followed an opening-round 37-over with a 43-over final round. Jamestown entered Tuesday one stroke behind Dickinson State and also posted a 43-over final round to finish at 81-over.
Three Blue Hawks placed in the top six individually, led by Brooklyn Materi in fourth. Materi closed with a 77 after an opening-round 81 to finish at 158 (+17).
Kiaralynn Weidinger finished one stroke behind Materi in fifth at 159 (+18), recording rounds of 79 and 80. Camille Poncin gave Dickinson State its third top-six finisher, placing sixth at 162 after back-to-back rounds of 82 and 80.
Jori Haugen and Cheyenne Jacobs each finished at 169. Haugen carded rounds of 83 and 86, while Jacobs improved by five strokes Tuesday with an 82 after opening with an 87. Izzabella Weber completed the first-team lineup at 173 with rounds of 88 and 85.
Dickinson State's second women's team finished fifth at 250-over. Addie Robbins led the group at 181 after rounds of 89 and 92, followed by Izabella Baisch at 185. Baisch improved seven strokes in the final round with an 89. Keeley Johnston finished at 211 and Madison Pitts recorded a 237.
On the men's side, Dickinson State's first team finished third at 32-over. The Blue Hawks made a significant move in the final round, improving from 27-over Monday to 5-over Tuesday.
Griffin Zimmer led the charge with a final-round 66, the lowest round by a Dickinson State men's golfer during the tournament. After opening with a 79 and sitting tied for 13th, Zimmer climbed to third in the final individual standings with a 145 (+4).
Sam Lewton joined Zimmer near the top of the leaderboard, tying for fifth at 147 (+6). Lewton followed his opening-round 76 with a 71 Tuesday.
Emersyn Lee and Jayce Johnson each finished at 154. Lee posted rounds of 79 and 75, while Johnson closed with a 72 after an opening 82. Henry Maughan also shot a final-round 72 to finish at 157, and Eric DeBoer completed the lineup at 161.
Jamestown won the men's team title at 11-over after shooting 4-under in the final round. Jamestown's second team finished runner-up at 31-over, one stroke ahead of Dickinson State.
The Blue Hawks' second men's team placed fifth at 60-over after improving from 43-over in the opening round to 17-over Tuesday. Brady Collins highlighted the second team's final round with a 69, a 14-stroke improvement from his opening 83, to finish at 152. Maddax Johnsen finished at 155, Torrin Ellis at 156, Kalen Price at 161, Kaden Bishop at 166 and Carter Ostlund at 168.
Camden Smith competed individually for Dickinson State and tied for 37th at 163 (+22), closing with a 77 after an opening-round 86.
Dickinson State returns to competition Sept. 14-15 when it hosts the Dickinson State University Fall Invitational. The tournament will be played at Heart River Golf Course in Dickinson and Pheasant Country Golf Course in South Heart.
