DICKINSON, N.D. – The Dickinson State women's golf team captured the team title Monday at the DSU Spring Invitational, while the Blue Hawk men placed third overall at Heart River Golf Course, a par-72 layout. The Blue Hawk women secured the team championship with a two-round total of 667 (+91), posting rounds of 340 (+52) and 327 (+39) to lead the field on their home course. Dickinson State placed four golfers inside the top six individually to separate from the competition and claim the title.
Brooklyn Materi led Dickinson State with a first-place finish at 153 (+9), recording rounds of 76 (+4) and 77 (+5). Camille Poncin followed with a fourth-place finish at 167 (+23) after posting rounds of 81 (+9) and 86 (+14). Jori Haugen finished fifth at 172 (+28), improving in the second round with a 79 (+7) after opening with a 93 (+21). Ellia Soydara placed sixth at 177 (+33) with rounds of 92 (+20) and 85 (+13), while Kiaralynn Weidinger added a seventh-place finish at 185 (+41) after rounds of 91 (+19) and 94 (+22).
On the men's side, Dickinson State's A team finished third overall with a two-round total of 608 (+32), posting rounds of 302 (+14) and 306 (+18). Mayville State claimed the team title at 592 (+16), followed by Valley City State at 606 (+30).
Tyus Thomas paced the Blue Hawks with a second-place finish at 148 (+4), carding rounds of 74 (+2) and 74 (+2). Torrin Ellis added a tie for seventh-place finish at 153 (+9) with rounds of 75 (+3) and 78 (+6). Jayce Johnson and Sam Lewton each tied for 10th at 155 (+11). Johnson recorded rounds of 80 (+8) and 75 (+3), while Lewton posted rounds of 76 (+4) and 79 (+7). Eric Deboer rounded out the Dickinson State A-team scoring group in 15th place at 157 (+13) after rounds of 77 (+5) and 80 (+8).
Dickinson State's B team finished fourth overall with a total of 654 (+78), recording rounds of 330 (+42) and 324 (+36). Kaden Bishop and Braxton Wolfe each tied for 16th at 160 (+16), both posting rounds of 81 (+9) and 79 (+7). Tyler Gjellstad finished 20th at 164 (+20) with rounds of 81 (+9) and 83 (+11), while Emmerson Lee placed 22nd at 168 (+24) after rounds of 86 (+14) and 82 (+10). Josh Hetzel and Jermaine Broussard each tied for 23rd at 169 (+25).

Dickinson State returns to action April 27–29 at the Frontier Conference Championships, held at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona. The three-day event will feature a 54-hole tournament format, with national qualifying spots up for grab.
