DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State senior defensive back Jack Hartman has been named the Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday in the first edition of the 2025 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Football Players of the Week.
Hartman, a native of Petaluma, Calif., delivered a game-changing performance in the No. 13-ranked Blue Hawks' 30-15 victory over Valley City State in Thursday night's season opener at the Biesiot Activities Center.
Hartman recorded two interceptions in the second quarter—one of which he returned 31 yards for a touchdown—to help DiSU seize momentum before halftime. His pick-six gave the Blue Hawks a 17-7 lead, and just minutes later, he halted a VCSU scoring threat by intercepting a pass near the goal line with under two minutes left in the half.
"Jack played a great game," said head coach Pete Stanton. "He pursued the ball very well and tackled well throughout the night. His two interceptions in the second quarter were instrumental in turning the game in our favor."
This marks Hartman's first career Frontier Conference weekly award.
