DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State fell in straight sets to No. 4 University of Providence on Saturday afternoon in Frontier Conference play, as the Argos earned a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-22, 25-20) at Scott Gymnasium.
Aubrey Allison led the Blue Hawks (7-5, 3-4 Frontier) with 13 kills and 11 digs, while Carmen Pallone added seven kills and three total blocks. Setter Rylee Kogolshak recorded 31 assists and 11 digs.
Dickinson State hit .116 as a team, totaling 36 kills and 19 errors on 147 attempts. Cate Floy and Makyah Albrecht combined for nine kills, while Samantha Oase added three kills and two block assists. Geraldyne Fernandez and Taylor Fischer combined for nine digs in the back row.
Providence (14-1, 7-0 Frontier) limited the Blue Hawks' attack with a strong defensive presence and balanced scoring. The Argos hit .194 and out-dug Dickinson State 78-70. The Blue Hawks managed just one service ace compared to four for Providence.
After dropping the first set, Dickinson State responded with a competitive second frame, pulling within two points late before the Argos closed on a run to take a 2-0 match lead. The Blue Hawks again kept it close in the third, but early errors and a late push by Providence sealed the sweep.
