HELENA, Mont. – Dickinson State senior Chloe Gunderson has been named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday in its fourth weekly honors release of the 2026 season.
A native of Powers Lake, N.D., Gunderson delivered a standout performance over the weekend at an NCAA Division II meet, capturing titles in all three of her events while posting NAIA-leading marks in both the shot put and discus.
Gunderson broke program records in each event, recording a throw of 15.71 meters (51 feet, 6.5 inches) in the shot put and 50.48 meters (165 feet, 7 inches) in the discus—both marks currently rank atop the NAIA this season.
She also added an NAIA 'B' qualifying mark in the hammer throw with a distance of 53.34 meters (171 feet, 9 inches), completing a dominant all-around performance.
The weekly honor marks the second of Gunderson's career.
"We're very happy for Chloe," said head coach Shayne Wittkopp. "She has worked hard for years to develop into this type of athlete, and it all came together for her this weekend across all three events. We're blessed to have her on our team. She's a tremendous representative of our program—a great person, a great student and a great athlete."
