HELENA, Mont. — Dickinson State senior Chloe Gunderson was named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced following the final weekly awards of the outdoor season.
Gunderson, a native of Powers Lake, North Dakota, earned the honor after a standout performance at the Frontier Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where she was named the Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Meet. She scored the most points among field-event competitors and led the Blue Hawks with two conference titles in the throws.
Gunderson won the shot put with a mark of 14.60 meters, or 47 feet, 10.75 inches, and added a discus title with a throw of 45.51 meters, or 149 feet, 3 inches. She also placed fourth in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 53.15 meters, or 174 feet, 4 inches.
The weekly award marks the third career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field honor for Gunderson.
