DICKINSON, N.D. – The Dickinson State University baseball program has earned the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.

The award recognizes ABCA member high school and college baseball programs that recorded a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

Dickinson State completed the academic year with a 3.25 cumulative team GPA, continuing the program's commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the field.

"Receiving the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award is a tremendous honor and reflects the dedication our student-athletes demonstrate every day," head coach Michael Dahl said. "I am incredibly proud of the discipline, commitment and work ethic our players have shown in earning this recognition. This award is a testament to our team's pursuit of excellence, and we are grateful to our faculty, academic support staff and everyone who helps our student-athletes succeed."

The Blue Hawks also placed 21 student-athletes on the Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference Team, while nine earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Dickinson State was among more than 800 programs nationwide to receive the honor, including nearly 500 college programs and more than 320 high school programs.

To qualify for the award, a program was required to have a head coach who is a current ABCA member and post a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.0 during the academic year.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has a longstanding tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. Its awards program includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-America and All-Region teams, regional and national coach of the year awards, the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
