HOME SWEET HOME: For the first time since October 1, 2022, Dickinson State will play a baseball game in Dickinson … the last time the Blue Hawks took the field at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark they split a double header with Mayville State to close out the fall portion of their season … the last time an NSAA conference game was played in Dickinson was April 28, 2022 as the Blue Hawks swept Presentation College to close out the regular season … it will be a special weekend for a number of reasons, as in addition to being the home opener for the Blue Hawks, Sunday will serve as Senior Day to honor eight Blue Hawks playing their final scheduled regular season series in Dickinson, while Monday will serve as the annual Cancer Awareness Day … the players will wear custom Cancer Awareness jerseys in Monday's contests that will be auctioned off the following week … league leading Dakota State comes to town riding an 18-game win streak, including a 16-0 start to NSAA play … the Trojans are led by their pitching staff that leads the NAIA in earned run average, giving up less than three earned runs a game … it will prove a battle of strengths as a powerful Blue Hawk offense faces a potent Trojan pitching staff this weekend

Notes: The teams have not met in the regular season since the 2020-2021 season after last year's series was snowed out … Dakota State won a 5-4 thriller in the loser's bracket final of last year's NSAA Conference Tournament in the team's only meeting of the year … the last time the two teams met in Dickinson it resulted in a 2-2 series split with the Blue Hawks taking both games day one and the Trojans sweeping day two
