Mandan, N.D. – The Dickinson State men's and women's golf teams opened play at the Valley City State Invitational (NDGA College Meet) on Thursday at Prairie West Golf Course, with both squads putting together steady first rounds to set themselves up for a strong finish in Friday's finale.
Men's Results
The Blue Hawk men fielded two scoring teams and had several solid individual showings in round one.
- Tyus Thomas led DSU with a +2 (74), placing him inside the top-10 individually.
- Emersyn Lee followed closely at +4 (76) in his collegiate debut.
- Jermaine Broussard (+5, 77) and Kaden Bishop (+6, 78) rounded out the "DSU 2" scoring team, which sits in third place at +17 after the opening round.
The "DSU 1" team finished the day in
fourth place (+22), paced by
Braxton Wolfe (+3, 75) and
Sam Lewton (+4, 76). Freshman
Eric DeBorer (+7, 79) and sophomore
Torrin Ellis (+8, 80) completed the scoring lineup.
Women's Results
The Blue Hawk women took control of the team standings after round one, finishing the day at
+29, well ahead of second-place Jamestown (+45).
Freshman Emma Isaacs (+25, 97) also competed individually for the Blue Hawks.

The tournament concludes Friday with the second and final round. The Blue Hawk women look to lock up the team title, while the men aim to climb into contention behind several strong individual performances. Day two will take place at Tom O'Leary Golf Course in Bismarck.
