BISMARCK, N.D. — The Dickinson State men's and women's track and field teams continue the early portion of the 2026 indoor season Saturday at the Marauder 2026 Opener, carrying national momentum and a growing list of NAIA qualifiers into the weekend.
Through the opening meets of the season, the Blue Hawks have produced multiple NAIA "A" and "B" qualifying marks, highlighted by several national-leading performances in the field events. Saturday's competition provides another opportunity for Dickinson State athletes to improve their national standing as the program builds toward Frontier Conference competition and the NAIA Indoor Championships.
Field Events Lead the Way for Blue Hawks
Dickinson State's early season success has been anchored by dominant performances in the field, where several athletes currently sit atop the NAIA performance lists.
Senior Kori Nagel has emerged as one of the nation's premier throwers. Nagel has met both the NAIA "A" and "B" standards in the weight throw with a mark of 18.94 meters and in the shot put with a throw of 15.25 meters. Both marks rank first in the NAIA entering the weekend and have set the tone for the Blue Hawk women.
Senior Adarra Hagelund leads the NAIA in the high jump after clearing 1.72 meters to achieve both qualifying standards. She is joined by senior Faith Brennan, who owns the top mark in the NAIA in the triple jump after posting a qualifying leap of 12.28 meters. Brennan has also contributed in the long jump and hurdles during the opening weeks of the season.
On the men's side, senior Dylan Dahlgren has established himself among the national leaders in the weight throw. Dahlgren met the NAIA "B" standard with a mark of 18.45 meters and currently ranks third in the NAIA. He has also led the Blue Hawks in the shot put this season with a mark of 15.76 meters.
Women's Team Shows Depth Across Disciplines
Behind the national-leading performances, the Dickinson State women continue to show depth across multiple event groups.
In the throws, the Blue Hawks have placed multiple athletes inside the NAIA performance lists in both the shot put and weight throw, with senior Alician Parks, sophomore Codi Nagle, freshman Alayna Carlson and senior Rebecca Eacker contributing early season marks.
On the track, sophomore Mia Handran has paced the middle distance group, opening the season with a time of 2:20.45 in the 800 meters. Junior Loli Jarrett and senior Natalie Lile have added depth in the 800 meters and mile. Brennan also recorded an early season mark of 8.93 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles.
Men Continue to Build Across Events
The Dickinson State men enter the Marauder 2026 Opener with national-level performances and balance across the roster.
In addition to Dahlgren's throws marks, Ty Bennick and Maxx Lee have provided depth in the shot put and weight throw. Senior Hudson Atkinson leads the middle distance group, while junior Caleb Sarsland opened his season in the 5000 meters.
The Blue Hawks also return experience in the multi events, with senior Garin Opdahl leading the heptathlon group after posting 4,271 points in the season opener.
Momentum Carries Toward Marauder 2026 Opener
With multiple athletes holding NAIA qualifying standards and several ranked among the top performers nationally, Dickinson State enters Saturday's Marauder 2026 Opener positioned to continue its strong start to the indoor season. The meet serves as a key tune up as the Blue Hawks prepare for their next competition at the Marauder 2026 Opener.
Competition is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 17th, in Bismarck.
