DICKINSON, N.D. – The 2026 Dickinson State University cheer team is set to open its season with a pair of competitions at the Northwestern Invite, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14, in Orange City, Iowa.
The Blue Hawks enter the new season with strong momentum after earning a third-place finish with a score of 96.38 at the NAIA National Championships and a third-place finish at the NCA National Championships in 2025. With those results as motivation, DSU looks to take the next step forward in 2026.
Dickinson State is led by head coach Cebe Schneider, who begins her sixth season at the helm of the program.
"We have a very young team, but our returners have done a tremendous job of leading the way," Schneider said. "I would characterize this group as having great heart and a well-developed work ethic. We have put together a strong routine with some very elite elements, so it's exciting to be at a point where we are putting it in front of judges."
At the Northwestern Invite, the Blue Hawks will compete against nine other programs, several of which have earned bids to national competitions in recent seasons.
"We look forward to representing the university and the community," Schneider said. "We appreciate the support, and as always, Hawks are up!"
