Dickinson State Cheer place second at the NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida

DAYTONA BEACH, FL — Dickinson State delivered a historic performance at the NCA College Nationals this weekend, earning its highest finish in program history in the Advanced Small Coed NAIA division.

Competing against more than 700 teams and nearly 11,500 athletes, the Blue Hawks rose to the occasion on the sport's biggest stage. Dickinson State placed second overall, posting a final score of 85.6417 after two strong routines in both Ocean Center and the Daytona Bandshell.

The Blue Hawks opened competition in prelims with an 84.86, advancing to finals in second place. They followed with an even stronger showing in the final round, improving to an 85.9 and securing their runner-up finish.

Dickinson State's routines were highlighted by strong execution and minimal deductions across both performances. The team maintained consistency in stunts, tumbling, and overall performance quality, delivering two clean routines under pressure.

"The energy here is electric and the competition is fierce," said Head Coach Cebe Schneider. "Not only did this team make program history with our highest nationals finish, but they did it on the largest stage in college cheer. They put out two great performances with minimal errors and gave the crowd and judges two solid routines."

The NCA College Nationals, often regarded as the premier event in collegiate cheer, provided a fitting backdrop for the Blue Hawks' milestone achievement. Dickinson State's performance earned them a place among the top programs in the NAIA division and solidified their continued rise on the national stage.

"I am so proud of them," Schneider added. "They earned their spot in the winner's circle and did an outstanding job representing our university, our community, and our state. We are grateful to our university, the Heritage Foundation, our friends, family, and supporters, and most of all to God. As always, Hawks are up."

With the historic finish, Dickinson State closes its season on a high note, setting a new standard for the program moving forward.
