OSKALOOSA, Iowa - Dickinson State placed fifth as a team at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Wrestling Championship on Friday and Saturday, finishing with 99.5 points and qualifying three wrestlers for the 2026 NAIA National Championships.
Grand View captured the team title with 264.5 points, followed by Missouri Valley (172.5), Central Methodist (150.5) and Graceland (107). Dickinson State finished fifth in the 12-team field. The Blue Hawks were led by three automatic national qualifiers in Wyatt Engwicht (125), Donivan Giangregorio (197) and Seth Suvak (285).
At 125 pounds, Engwicht delivered one of the most significant performances of the weekend. After dropping his opening bout, he worked his way through the consolation bracket to reach the true fourth-place match. In the placement bout, Engwicht defeated William Penn's Gentry Walston by fall in 1:44 to secure fourth place and punch his ticket to nationals.
Giangregorio earned a fourth-place finish at 197 pounds to claim his national berth. He advanced through the bracket to reach the semifinal round before battling back to finish fourth overall. Suvak placed third at heavyweight to secure Dickinson State's third automatic qualification. He opened his tournament with a fall and added key bonus points throughout the bracket before finishing on the podium in third place.
Dickinson State also produced three additional placers. At 174 pounds, Cutter Jones placed fifth and Bradlee Shaw finished sixth. Jones recorded two decision victories on his way to the fifth-place finish, while Shaw added a key decision in the consolation bracket to secure sixth. At 184 pounds, Jackson King placed fifth. King recorded multiple bonus-point victories during the championship, including two technical falls and a major decision, to finish on the podium and contribute valuable team points.

Dickinson State will compete at the NAIA National Championships, scheduled for March 5-7 in Wichita, Kan. The three-day event will feature the nation's top qualifiers as the 3 Blue Hawk national qualifiers look to continue their postseason run on the national stage.
