DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State junior Reannan Butler has been named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Butler, from Flagstaff, Arizona, earned the honor after a strong performance in the circle during the Tucson (Ariz.) Invitational.
The junior appeared in three games for the Blue Hawks, pitching 9 2/3 innings without allowing an earned run to finish the week with a 0.00 earned run average. Butler limited opposing hitters to just six hits during the stretch.
Her highlight outing came in a complete-game effort against receiving votes Indiana Tech, where Butler tossed a three-hit shutout to lead Dickinson State to a 2-0 victory.
The award marks the first Frontier Conference Player of the Week honor of Butler's career.
Butler becomes the second Blue Hawk pitcher to earn the conference's weekly pitching award this season.
