MITCHELL, S.D. - The Dickinson State women's golf team captured the team title at the Dakota Wesleyan Spring Invitational, while the Blue Hawk men recorded a sixth-place finish at Lakeview Municipal Golf Course, a par-72 layout.
The Blue Hawk women led the field with a three-round total of 973 (+109), finishing ahead of Jamestown (1022, +158) and host Dakota Wesleyan (1023, +159). Dickinson State posted team rounds of 329 (+41), 329 (+41) and 315 (+27) to secure the victory in the multi-round event.
Brooklyn Materi paced the Blue Hawks with a third-place individual finish at 235 (+19), recording rounds of 78 (+6), 83 (+11) and 74 (+2). Kiaralynn Weidinger added a sixth-place finish at 242 (+26) with rounds of 81 (+9), 79 (+7) and 82 (+10). Ellia Soydara followed with a tie for seventh place at 244 (+28) after posting rounds of 85 (+13), 81 (+9) and 78 (+6). Camille Poncin contributed a tie for 11th-place finish at 258 (+42) with rounds of 85 (+13), 92 (+20) and 81 (+9), while Jori Haugen rounded out Dickinson State's scoring group in 15th place at 266 (+50) with rounds of 91 (+19), 86 (+14) and 89 (+17). Dickinson State placed three golfers inside the top 10 and four inside the top 15 to separate from the rest of the field and secure the team title.
On the men's side, Dickinson State's A team finished sixth overall with a three-round total of 934 (+70). The Blue Hawks improved each round of the event, posting scores of 315 (+27), 313 (+25) and 306 (+18).
Tyus Thomas led Dickinson State with a tie for 20th-place finish at 231 (+15), recording rounds of 81 (+9), 77 (+5) and 73 (+1). Jayce Johnson and Torrin Ellis each finished tied for 30th at 237 (+21). Johnson posted rounds of 77 (+5), 76 (+4) and 84 (+12), while Ellis recorded rounds of 84 (+12), 79 (+7) and 74 (+2). Eric Deboer tied for 33rd at 238 (+22) with rounds of 79 (+7), 83 (+11) and 76 (+4), and Sam Lewton finished tied for 39th at 242 (+26) after rounds of 78 (+6), 81 (+9) and 83 (+11) to complete Dickinson State's A-team scoring lineup.
Dickinson State's B team finished eighth overall with a total score of 969 (+105). Henry Maughan, Tyler Gjellstad and Jermaine Broussard each tied for 39th at 242 (+26). Maughan recorded rounds of 83 (+11), 81 (+9) and 78 (+6), Gjellstad posted rounds of 81 (+9), 79 (+7) and 82 (+10), and Broussard finished with rounds of 78 (+6), 83 (+11) and 81 (+9). Kaden Bishop finished 46th at 250 (+34) with rounds of 80 (+8), 85 (+13) and 85 (+13), while Emmerson Lee placed 56th at 262 (+46) after rounds of 89 (+17), 95 (+23) and 78 (+6).
Individually, Braxton Wolfe tied for 33rd at 238 (+22) with rounds of 80 (+8), 80 (+8) and 78 (+6), and Josh Hetzel finished 44th at 247 (+31) with rounds of 85 (+13), 80 (+8) and 82 (+10).
Baker won the men's team title with a three-round total of 877 (+13), followed by Mount Marty (890, +26) and Dakota Wesleyan (893, +29).

Dickinson State returns to action April 19-20 at the DSU Spring Invite, held at Heart River Golf Course in Dickinson. The two-day tournament marks the Blue Hawks' only home event of the spring season.
